The new line of Posh Chalk Pigments has 5 metallic hues: Copper, Pale Gold, Lemon Gold, Byzantine Gold, Silver, Violet, Green Fhathalo, Red Carmin, Red Magenta, and Orange Gold.

You’re probably wondering what’s so special about these pigments … they truly look like brilliant liquid metal. Their colour is accurate; the key is that they come in a natural and dense powder.

The pigments should be mixed with a varnish to achieve a metallic-look finish, or can be mixed with waxes, topcoats, and other media (water-based or oil-based) to achieve different effects.

Alternatively, you can sprinkle the pigment directly onto your project, and apply your sealing medium afterwards. When used with a solvent-based varnish, they dry rapidly.

How to Mix Posh Chalk Pigments:
In this tutorial I mixed it with Dixie Belle’s Clear Coat in Gloss. But you can use any topcoat of your choice.

1. ALWAYS put your pigments in first to keep it from getting too runny.
2. You only need a little bit of the pigment. A little goes a long long way.
3. Mix thoroughly. The pigment powder is dense, so mix well.
4. Paint with artist brush

Will my hand refinished antique, or vintage, piece have imperfections?

New Life Vintage 4 U furniture and décor pieces have been pre-owned and pre-loved, most are vintage or antique. Because they have a history. We like to call age related imperfections: "Perfect Imperfections", adding character, and a genuine aged feel.

Pieces needing repair have been repaired to the best of our ability and knowledge and are in good working condition.

Colours may vary from what you see on your screen due to lighting, monitor settings, and other variables.

All of our pieces are hand-painted. There will be occasional brush strokes and there may be minor imperfections in the finish. That is the beauty, charm, and character of a piece that has been lovingly painted by hand. And I DO LOVE my work :)

Care instructions

Where applicable, such with chalk boards, care instructions will be sent with the purchased piece.

New Life Vintage 4 U holds no responsibility for the secure and safe hanging of mirrors or heavy wall décor, so please research which hanging method is most appropriate for your wall and piece. We do, however, use quality hanging hardware that are chosen for appropriate weight bearing.

Original vintage or antique mirror glass, can and usually does, have minor imperfections, such as age spots and backing blemishes. We try to avoid these as much as possible unless they add to the genuine feel of the piece. glass with noticeable scratches are always replaced for new glass, cut by our local glazier.

Do you accept returns on refinished pieces?

All of our refinished pieces are Sold As Is.
We adhere to a No Cancellations, No Returns, No Refunds, No Exchanges Policy. We do not offer warranties or guarantees of any kind so please make sure you love your piece and have measured your space before your purchase. This is to protect the seller from changes of mind and impulse purchasing etc.

Additional photos and information are available upon request so please don't hesitate to message us before making your purchase.

Refinishing branded products, currently: Hokus Pokus, WoodUBend, Posh Chalk, A1 Transfers, Grace on Design, and Zibra Brushes, are sold with the expectation that the buyer knows how to use them.

Some products come with specific instructions that important to follow; if there is an issue with your product due to user error/not following instructions, they can not be replaced/refunded.

What happens if my item is damaged during shipping?

New Life Vintage 4 U is not responsible for any damage or lost items that may occur during transit. Please inspect your package immediately upon delivery and note any damage to the shipper as you will need to file a claim with them directly.

We make certain to pack our shipped items very well, but sometimes, the handling by shipping companies can be quite brutal (Canada Post & USPS in particular) and things do get damaged.

Etsy sellers are not expected to replace or refund items damaged during shipping, but we will certainly help you to make a claim, or make one on your behalf, keeping you updated regularly. We purchase shipping on the buyer's behalf, but the responsibility for safe transit lies with the shipping company.
